**CITY HALL IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC

The City of Overton is monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and is taking preventive measures to help prevent the spread of the virus. For court and utility payments, staff encourages the use of the payment drop box to the right of the City Hall front door under the bulletin board. Envelopes are available for cash and check payments. *Separate envelopes are available for court versus utility payments* If paying in cash, please bring the exact amount. Any cash payment overages will be applied to your account. As always, payments can be made via phone at 903-834-3171, press 2 or online at the City of Overton.

MUNICIPAL COURT: The March 18, 2020 court date has been rescheduled for April 8, 2020. The above payment methods apply for court also. To sign up for defensive driving or for other court paperwork, please call the municipal court clerk at 903-834-3171, press 3 or email court@cityofoverton.com.

The Texas Department of State Health Services provides the latest information on COVID-19, including the number of confirmed cases per county, testing locations, and ways to prevent the spread of the virus. The Tyler DSHS office phone number is 903-533-5210.

The public CPR class scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at the Overton Community Center is canceled and will be rescheduled. Any private rentals at the Community Center are allowed to continue (at the attendees’ risk). If you would like to cancel or reschedule a planned event due to the COVID-19, please call City Hall at 903-834-3171, press 2.

Public meetings for the City Council and Boards will continue as usual. The City is asking residents who show symptoms such as fever or cough or who have traveled to affected areas to refrain from physically attending these meetings.

The City of Overton urges everyone to practice personal preventive measures as suggested by NET Health or the Texas Department of State Health Services.
